Who's in Charge Here?

It's natural for the ego to believe that whatever happens to it is 'caused' by something external. The ego is placed in a situation wherein God is the creator, but the ego can have no direct knowledge of God. Therefor the ego believes that it must be the creator of itself. But it has no power to create, so it goes about generating illusions of creation - which is not a very creative thing to do. It's the only way the ego can remedy the thought that it is nothing. So, when we see all the crazy and insane acts of other people 'out there', that's really ourselves witnessing the crazy and insane acts of our own ego. The ego doesn't want to be associated with such insanity, so it pushes the 'authorship' of that insanity away from itself. In effect, blaming others and things.
